Private tours of Hakone

Hakone can be done as a daytrip from Tokyo. Better yet, stay in one of the ryokans (traditional Japanese-inns) that have onsen hot spring baths

While Hakone is known as a place to relax, there's certainly alot you can see while in Hakone. Whether you want to hike along paths used by travellers 400 years ago or do the Lake Ashi circuit in boats and ropeways, we have a plan for you.

Full day private tour of Hakone (6-7 hours of the tour + time on the trains if doing as a daytrip from Tokyo)

35,000 JPY for a group of up to four people

Note that the tour will be on public transportation (buses, trains, cable cars, ropeways and boats).

The different modes of transportation is actually one of the main attractions at Hakone!

For more details on each and how you can save money, please see info on the Hakone Free Pass.

Included: Meeting at your accommodation (either in Tokyo or Hakone), full day guided tour based on a customized itinerary.

Not included: Your transportation/admission fees. The transportation fees for the guide while you are together.

*If you choose to be dropped off in Hakone, you do not need to pay the guide for his train fares to get back to Tokyo.

Notes on the itinerary: Due to volcanic activity and the small amounts of volcanic gas, persons with asthma or other respiratory problems may want to avoid the Owakudani area and the ropeway.

This is not a tour of the Fuji Five-Lakes region; note they are in a different area as Hakone. Though many bus companies offers day tours that cover both, we strongly suggest that you avoid trying to do both in a single day as you will simply spend too much time on the road.

How to book: Please contact us first to check availability. You can make the payment online or pay directly on the day of the tour.
