Visitors planning a visit to the ancient capital of Kamakura should be advised that the Great Buddha in Kotokuin Temple will undergo restoration works from 13 Jan to 10 Mar, 2016. According to the temple website, "Because of the placement of scaffoldings and temporary roof etc., it will be impossible to view the Daibutsu during this time."
