On July 26th at 1pm, the Hakone Ropeway will resume full operations for the first time in 15 months. Sections of the ropeway had remained closed due to increased volcanic activity in the area but local officials decided to lift the restrictions in travel after observing that activity had quieted down.
Now visitors will be able to do the full circuit around the scenic Hakone area with the cruise on Lake Ashi, rides on the Hakone Tozan train and the ropeway.
