Starting on 8th March 2017, the Japan Rail Pass will be available for purchase after arrival in Japan. At the moment, the pass is not sold in Japan so one must purchase a voucher through designated travel agents prior to departing from their home country.
The passes will be available at selected locations throughout Japan, including the Narita Airport, Haneda Airport (Monorail Station), Tokyo, Shinjuku and Yokohama Station. More details are to be released on the official Japan Rail Pass website in the upcoming months.
