Chiune Sugihara Sempo Museum opens in Tokyo

There is a new museum focusing on the life of Chiune "Sempo" Sugihara. As a diplomat in Lithuania at the time of the Second World War, Sugihara rescued some 6,000 Jewish refugees by issuing transit visas.

The Sempo Museum opened near the Tokyo Station at the address 2-7-9 Yaesu, Chou-ku and is in the 2nd floor of the Sagami Building. It is about a 5 minute walk from the Yaesu South Exit of the Tokyo Station.

Opening hours are between 11am-5pm and the museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
