In 2025, there will be several big events happening in the country. In Osaka, the World Expo 2025 will be held in Yumeshima Island from April 13 to October 13.
In Tokyo, the World Athletics Championships is coming back for the first time since 1991. The competition will be held at the National Stadium from September 13-21.
There are several large redevelopment projects scheduled for completion in the next few months.
The Ginza Sony Park will be reopening January 26th on the site where the previous Sony building stood until 2018.
The Takanawa Gateway City project is approaching completion and the grand opening is scheduled for March 27. The project will feature a museum designed by Kengo Kuma, a large Lumine shopping mall and a section of the old rail embankment from the Meiji Era that was discovered during construction. JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo is expected to open on the upper floors by autumn of this year.
